In 2019, Robinhood posted that Prometheus would have been a pretty sweet name for the company if “Robinhood” hadn’t been available. Years before Robinhood Chain. No token to promote. Just a passing thought, from Robinhood itself.
Elon has posted it across multiple years. He follows Atelier Missor and has engaged with the artists’ Prometheus statue concept. This is a story he has already met.

Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity. Fire gave people more than warmth. It let them forge tools, build cities, and change a world that had once seemed beyond their control.
Robinhood’s name comes from a different story with a familiar idea: taking something held by the powerful and putting it within reach of ordinary people. Prometheus did that with fire. Robinhood built its identity around doing it with markets.
Elon and SpaceX represent what happened after humanity received that gift. We learned to control fire, then built engines that could lift rockets off the planet. Starship is an attempt to carry that progress beyond Earth.
That is why Prometheus belongs near Starbase. The Titan who gave humanity fire is standing beside the furthest thing we have built with it.
Robinhood made its Prometheus post years before Robinhood Chain existed. There was no token to promote. It was a passing thought about a name that might have suited a company built around opening access to markets.
Today that thought has a different weight. A $PROMETHEUS token trades on Robinhood Chain, and the connection can be understood in a single screenshot.
Robinhood did not create the token. The post matters because the reference came from Robinhood itself, long before a community had any reason to use it. Memes spread when people can grasp the story quickly. This one has a beginning they can see for themselves.

There is a reason it feels at home beside SpaceX. Prometheus is a myth about refusing to accept the limits placed on humanity. SpaceX was founded on an ambition that sounds impossible until someone builds the machinery to pursue it: making life possible beyond Earth.
For years, “Prometheus Unbound” was a phrase on Elon’s timeline. Near Starbase, it is becoming something people can stand in front of.
Atelier Missor is building a roughly 50-foot Prometheus monument near Starbase. As the statue takes shape, so does the image at the heart of this thesis: Prometheus holding fire with Starship behind him.
A post moves down the timeline. A monument remains. Visitors will photograph it. People following Starship will see it from new angles. Each launch gives the place where Prometheus stands another moment in the world’s attention.
The statue is the artists’ work, separate from the token. That is part of what makes it so powerful as a meme: the community did not have to invent a 50-foot symbol. The artists were already building one beside the rockets.
Unlike an internet character that needs a new joke to stay alive, Prometheus has a myth people have been telling for thousands of years.
$PROMETHEUS launched on LONG, a Robinhood Chain launchpad built around deep, locked liquidity — a market that can take larger trades as more people discover it.
LONG starts tokens at roughly a $20,000 valuation, which makes it more expensive for a few wallets to grab a large share of supply at launch, while the liquidity gives larger participants room to build positions.
